This team has done incredible work! This new headsculpt is fantastic, it really looks like Chris Evans! I love the different shades of color for the hair – at the front light and darker at the back. Then you have the Steve Rogers headsculpt, both have been sculpted by Hwan Kim and painted by JC Hong.
You get a basic expression, an angry expression, and a ready for battle expression. It’s more difficult to change on this one than on Batman figures, that’s the difference. It’s a great one, you can definitely recognize Captain America there and I love that they included different expressions like they do for Batman figures. Let’s talk about the helmeted headsculpt first. That being said, you can get him in some great action poses! As every Hot Toys figure, this one has over 30 points of articulation. So be careful when you display the figure, don’t keep it in the same action pose for too long. It’s similar to what they used for Black Widow. They used hard plastic for the armor parts of the costume and a mix between fabric and plastic for the rest of the costume. So, they improved it for the final version. When the promotional pictures of the prototype were released people complained that the star wasn’t big enough. Like I said at the beginning of my review, they’ve updated it. Hot Toys has done a great job getting the costume accurate. It’s subtle but it feels like he’s been to battle. Just like the shields, the costume has some dirt effects on it. Both shields are battle-damaged with traces of dirt on them. Real diecast wouldn’t have worked here because it would have been too heavy for the figure to carry. The shields and the Mjolnir are both made of plastic but the paint application almost makes it feel like it’s diecast. Little accessories like Steve’s compass are always nice to have! You can open it and there’s a small picture of Peggy inside! THE SHIELD The basic stand is the same as the other Avengers Endgame figures with the Avengers logo and the symbol of the character, here it’s Captain America’s shield. 7 interchangeable hands (obviously), a brand new Steve Rogers headsculpt, 2 additional expressions for the helmeted Captain America headsculpt, Captain America helmet, Steve’s compass, additional hand joints, Mjolnir, the shield, the broken shield, and the basic stand.
It comes with some really cool accessories. Since it’s Captain America, the colors are mainly blue and red.
HOT TOYS ENDGAME CAPTAIN AMERICA MOVIE
This means you have the Avengers logo with a promotional art of the character and the movie title card. The box art is the usual design as the other Avengers Endgame figures. Namely the straps on the broken shield and the size of the star on the costume. This one was delayed a few times but it allowed the Hot Toys team to fix some problems on the prototype.
